Campus
The University of Economics and Humanities administers premises of a total area of about 2000 sq metres, consisting of two buildings located in the centre of Bielsko-Biała, about 200 sq metres in the centre of Krakow (only a few hundred metres from the marketplace) and about 150 sq metres in the centre of Katowice.
The buildings in Bielsko-Biała are situated in the old part of the town, which, in accordance with the current plans for municipal development, will be turned into a new centre of administration and services. The school's location in the centre of the city makes it easy and convenient to reach.
History
The University of Economics and Humanities in Bielsko-Biała was established in 1997 and is a non-state university providing education on the level of university vocational studies. Graduates of the school receive the title "licencjat"
(Bachelor of
Arts), which
serves as
a qualification
for practising
in the field of
one's major
and also to
continue studies
on MA courses.
At present there are over eight hundred students at WSEH (Polish abbreviation). So far, over twelve hundred students have graduated from the school and been awarded the BA degree.
The research and teaching faculty consists of 50 lecturers, including twelve full professors.
The University is the member of FEDE and cooperates with Technische Universität Dresden and Universität Essen within the Erasmus-Socrates framework.

PHILOLOGY

BA studies in the field of philology with a specialization in English and a specialization in German provide education in English and German language teaching, Business English and translation. Education in the field of philology is pursued following a three- or four-year system, depending on the language fluency of the candidate. After entering the school, there is a language qualification test on the basis of which the candidate is admitted to the three- or four-year system. The aim of the first year in the four- year system is to improve practical language skills; it is to make the students fulfill the initial requirements of the three-year program.
POLITICAL SCIENCE

Three-year BA studies in the field of political science are aimed at providing the students with theoretical and practical knowledge involved in the functioning of the modern state, law, and international relations in all possible aspects which shape the form of culture and civilization at the beginning of the 21st century.
MANAGEMENT

Three-year BA studies in the field of management offer a wide scope of specialist knowledge and skills necessary for the management of market-oriented enterprises, as well as non-profit institutions. The studies cover subjects from the areas of organization and management, marketing, accounting and corporate financial policy, economic law, human resources and real-estate management.
Students from all departments are prepared for the continuation of studies on MA courses and have the opportunity to gain international certificates and FEDE diplomas. Graduates are prepared for starting and developing their professional career in the market economy environment.
Research Activities
The University of Economics and Humanities in Bielsko-Biała is a co-organizer of many meetings, events, scientific seminars, and conferences including international ones. It has always attached great importance not only to the quality of education but also to research and scientific development.
Some areas of our scientific and research activities are:
the development of organizations; the development
of international banking; financing of company development;
basic issues of EU integration processes in the areas
of finance and accountancy;
20th-century Irish literature (from modernism to postmodernism); questions of American regional and ethnic literature;
methodological and linguistic aspects of teaching English as a foreign language;
aspects of ESP (English for Specific Purposes).
